Memorial/Cremains Pieces are special appointments made privately with one of our skilled glass artisans.

When you call or email the Gallery you will immediately connect with one of our helpful customer service staff. When you inform them you are seeking to have a Memorial made, they will ask questions about what your vision is for the final piece. Based on your answers, they will refer you to one of our experienced glass artists.
The typical cost for a commission piece is gallery price plus 15%. Factors which will affect the price include the size of the artwork, the colors incorporated, and the number of pieces you wish to have made. Once you have discussed these details with your glass artist, they will provide you with a quote. Once your Memorial Piece is complete, you will submit payment directly to the artists, not to the gallery.
Since these pieces are special and take a skilled craftsperson to create, we typically do not offer to make Memorials as part of the BYO Program. Additionally, we recommend that Memorials are made as solid paperweights/sculptures/pendants/etc., since they have greater longevity than blown glass. Blown Memorial pieces are possible, but the ashes will not be encased inside the glass, which can degrade the life and beauty of the art over time.
Our glass artists can make smaller pieces that can be drilled or wire-wrapped and turned into wearable artwork, but our jewelry team is unable to make set pieces which incorporate cremain material.
That depends on the glassblower in question. If they are comfortable having you witness the creative process, then you are welcome to spend time in the hot shop with them. Please address this question to your artist once you are in direct contact with them.
